Espresso & Vanilla Protein Shake


Sometimes a girl just craves a giant Starbucks mocha frappuccino, ok? But maybe minus the calories…the sugar…the carbs…but still wants it to taste good. Is that too much to ask?! If you’ve followed me for a while on social media, you know by now I am all about recreating my favorite foods into macro-friendly versions, all without sacrificing flavor and taste! This espresso & vanilla protein shake is a perfect example of just that. And in case you were wondering, yes – this has an extra boost of protein to help preserve those muscle gains! 😉


  • 1/4 C instant espresso
  • 1 C vanilla almond milk
  • 1/2 scoop vanilla whey protein powder
  • 2 TBSP. flax seed
  • Cinnamon
  • Handful of ice


  1. Blend all ingredients together in a high-speed blender.
  2. Serve immediately and garnish with a sprinkle of cinnamon.

Servings: 2

Macros: 110 calories | 6g fat | 4g carbs | 10g protein

*NOTE*: I personally prefer to make these fresh and as soon as I’m ready to drink it. I also highly recommend blending this in the blender, verses shaking in a shaker cup; that way you make sure to fully blend the flax seeds and avoid any (nasty) clumping.
